- Johann Rudolf Wyß, der Jüngere, geboren am 04.03.1782 in Bern; gestorben am 21.03.1830 in Bern. Wyß war ein schweizerischer Philosophieprofessor und Bibliothekar. Johann Rudolf Wyss studierte in Bern, Tübingen, Göttingen und Halle und war danach Hauslehrer in Yverdon. 1805 wurde er ordentlicher Professor an der Berner Akademie und wirkte von 1827 bis 1830 als deren Oberbibliothekar. In dieser Zeit war er auch Lehrer von Jeremias Gotthelf.
